I first met Elexa at a musical gathering in the spring of 2004 in Arcadia, Kansas, just a mile from the Missouri border – With her band The Hitchhikers, she put on a Strong City benefit for Bayley Kate‘s family when the Marais des Cygne flooded their home in Lane in the summer of 2007 – that show was when I first remember feeling the power of Lexy’s music – FALL APART is my favorite song of all time.
Lexy wrote GLAD WE CAME as we passed through the mountains in the Carson National Forest after our first Taos session in November 2017 - She didn’t tell me about it till much later – It pretty much sums up the HEYLEON! recording process.
Elexa - Glad We Came was a song born from the big love feelings I have for members of this band and my community as a whole. It’s the closest to heaven I’ll ever get in the backseat of Brody’s car.
